DTU-DCE Fraternity Forum wishes you and your family a very happy & prosperous New Year- 2021. May all your wishes come true in this year ! Let’s hope the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic will end soon. Please take due care and necessary precautions to stay safe.
As you may be aware, DTU-DCE Fraternity Forum is a forum of alumni, students and faculty and provides a platform for networking, interaction & exchange of ideas on technical / managerial issues, personal & professional growth, extending help to each other and take up issues of common interest. It is a novel attempt to bring the three stake holders of DTU/ DCE on a common platform for creating synergy without which long term sustainable excellence is not possible. In this context it is mentioned that the Fraternity Forum is different from alumni association which is an association of only alumni whereas Forum connects alumni, students as well as faculty and intends to leverage strength of alumni to help each other, students & alma mater.
The idea of creating this Forum was conceptualised by Dr. Navneet Kumar Sharma, an alumnus of 1985 batch of Mechanical Engineering of DCE. This concept was formalised after discussions with several illustrious fraternity members. One of the backdrops and trigger for this initiative was the issue of mysterious & unnatural demise of Shri Sushant Singh Rajput, a former student of DTU, which shocked the fraternity of DTU/ DCE. This matter was taken up by the DTU- DCE Fraternity Forum and an online petition was moved and was signed by more than 2600 of alumni, students and faculty. The first meeting of the members to further concretise the Forum was held on 22nd August, 2020, on the auspicious occasion of “Ganesh Chaturthi”. Further, we are happy to share that on the first day of “Shardiya Navratri” on 17th October, 2020 the website, online (free) membership and Chapters of the Forum have also been inaugurated.
In addition to Chapters of DTU-DCE Fraternity Forum within India in Bihar, Haryana & Punjab, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and West Bengal; we have also opened overseas Chapters of Forum in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore & UAE. In the new year, we intend to increase the geographical foot print of the Forum both in India and abroad. We seek your support in this regard.
Further, in order to help the students we have formed several Committees viz. Membership & Mentorship Committee, Internship & Placement Committee, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Promotion Committee, Industry Interface & Sponsorship Committee, Scholarships Committee, Publications Committee, Social Works Committee, Sports Committee and Cultural Committee. We appeal our esteemed fraternity to come forward and join these Committees to strengthen the Forum in achieving its objectives. Also, we look forward for volunteers as Batch Coordinators.
You may be happy to note that the Forum started functioning immediately after its formation and organised first event as a webinar under the theme of ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT on “How to Convert Technological Innovation into a Successful Start-Up Business” on 26th August, 2020. This webinar was organised in association with Delhi Management Association (DMA) and International Institute of Entrepreneurship & Technology (iCreate), Ahmedabad. The webinar drew overwhelming response and the participants included members of the DMA, students of DTU, faculty members and budding entrepreneurs. This was extensively covered in Times of India.
Also, to strengthen the networking and instil a sense of pride in the students of DTU, the Forum has started a series “Know your Alumni” wherein the alumni who have made a mark in their respective fields are introduced through posts on social media and the same is also available on our website.
The Forum is planning to regularly organize more such events / activities in the coming months.
Keeping in view our objectives, we have provided the life members limited search facility on our website, based on location, organisation, batch & hobbies etc., As we grow, we intend to provide more benefits to the members. Further, if you wish to shoulder some responsibility in official capacity in any of the committees of the Forum or want to recommend any fraternity for the same or give any suggestions, you may write to the Forum at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would appreciate and request you to introduce and invite the DTU/ DCEites in contact with you to join the Forum as Life Members. Further, the Forum is also on Facebook & LinkedIn by the same name and also on Twitter (DTUDCEForum) & Instagram (dtudcefraternity) which you may like to join. The Forum is also having its YouTube channel on which the various events organised are available.
We are confident that with your active cooperation & support, the Forum will be able to effectivly serve the fraternity and our alma- mater.
The Forum looks forward for a fruitful association and wishing you all the very best in your endeavours. Together we will make it a big success.
